The NCC was joined by the Southern Peanut Farmers Federation and USA Rice Federation in expressing appreciation of the continued efforts of the leaders and members of the House and Senate Farm Bill Conference Committee to complete work on a new comprehensive, multi-year farm bill – but the groups reiterated their opposition to extending current farm law.
 
Peru Determines No CVD on U.S. Cotton 11/22/2013
The National Cotton Council (NCC) welcomes the decision by the Peruvian commission on competition and intellectual property (INDECOPI) not to impose a countervailing duty (CVD) on imports of U.S. cotton. Following an 18-month investigation, the commission found no causal link between the imports of U.S. cotton fiber and the economic situation of Peru’s cotton farmers.
 
Midwest, Southwest Farmers to See Georgia Agricultural Operations 11/04/2013
Midwest and Southwest producers will see agricultural operations in Georgia on November 11-14, as part of the NCC's Multi-Commodity Education Program.

NCC Lauds USDA’s Prompt Payment Distribution 10/21/2013
The NCC thanked USDA after the agency announced on October 21 that it had begun distributing Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) annual rental payments to this nation’s participants and that it will begin distributing 2013 Direct Payments and 2012 Average Crop Revenue Election (ACRE) program payments on October 24.
 
Senators Thanked For Letter Seeking Clarification on Marketing Assistance Loans Reduction 10/18/2013
The NCC expressed appreciation to Sens. Thad Cochran (R-MS) and Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) and 12 of their Sunbelt colleagues for their bipartisan communication to USDA Secretary Vilsack requesting clarification of the basis for the decision to reduce Marketing Assistance Loans by 5.1% and to shut down loan processing until software modifications are made.
 
US, Australian Cotton Industries Escalating Commitment to Responsibly-Grown Fiber 10/16/2013
The NCC and its export promotion arm, Cotton Council International, have joined with Cotton Australia and Cotton Incorporated as founding members of COTTON LEADS™ -- an initiative aimed at raising awareness of the responsible growing practices among U.S. and Australian cotton producers.

NCC Reiterates Call for New Farm Bill 08/07/2013
The NCC has consistently recognized that a new multi-year farm bill is the way to achieve a final resolution of the cotton portions of the longstanding trade dispute with Brazil.
 
Comprehensive, Multi-year Farm Bill Completion Urged 08/02/2013
The NCC is urging leaders of the House and Senate agriculture committees to work expeditiously to resolve the differences between their respective farm bills so that Congress can take final action and the President can sign the legislation.

Far West Producers to See Texas Operations 07/25/2013
Nine cotton producers from Arizona and California will see cotton and other agriculture-related operations in Texas on Aug. 5-8 as part of the '13 NCC’s Producer Information Exchange (P.I.E.).

Thirteen cotton producers from Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas will observe cotton and other agricultural operations in California’s San Joaquin Valley the week of July 22 as part of the NCC’s '13 Producer Information Exchange (P.I.E.) Program.

Ten cotton producers from the Southeast will see cotton operations in Louisiana and Mississippi on July 7-12 as part of the NCC’s '13 Producer Information Exchange (PIE) program.
