Conaway in the development of the most recent farm law and are excited for him to have the opportunity to serve as the 50th chairman of the House Agriculture Committee," said Jimmy Dodson, a Robstown, TX producer and immediate past chairman of NCC.

"Rep. Conaway has proven himself to be a positive and thoughtful ‎voice in developing policy and balancing the views and interests of a diverse agricultural industry in this country. We look forward to what should be a smooth transition from current Chairman Lucas (R-OK), who has done a tremendous job in shepherding the current farm law through Congress,"‎ said Woody Anderson, a Colorado City, TX producer and past chairman of NCC.

Rep. Conaway represents the 11th congressional district in Texas, one of the largest cotton producing districts in the U.S.
