MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The National Cotton Council (NCC) appreciates the Trump Administration's announcement allowing the stacking of endorsements for area-wide coverage, a policy change that will provide cotton producers with additional flexibility and risk management options as they navigate ongoing economic and production challenges.
"Effective risk management tools are essential for cotton producers as they make decisions for their operations," said NCC Chairman Nathan Reed. "We appreciate the administration's recognition of the challenges facing agriculture and its commitment to providing producers with policies that strengthen the farm safety net. The ability to combine area-wide products with equal coverage levels as it relates to revenue, yield, hurricanes, and tropical storms will help ensure growers have access to the tools they need to manage risk.”
NCC looks forward to continuing to work with the Administration, USDA, and Congress to advance policies that support U.S. cotton producers, rural communities, and the broader cotton supply chain.
