MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The National Cotton Council (NCC) appreciates the Trump Administration and the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) announcement to provide additional assistance to agricultural producers through the Harvest Fuel Relief program.
"The NCC commends Secretary Rollins and the USDA for taking steps to provide timely assistance to producers as they navigate ongoing economic challenges," said NCC Chairman Nathan Reed. "This assistance will provide important support to farm families as they complete the 2026 harvest and make plans for the coming crop year.
While this assistance will help address near-term challenges, the NCC urges Congress to follow through with the earlier commitment of additional economic support. In addition, the cotton industry remains committed to pursuing the bipartisan Buying American Cotton Act, with over 100 cosponsors, that will strengthen the long-term competitiveness and profitability of the U.S. cotton industry.
