MEMPHIS, Tenn. - The National Cotton Council (NCC) commends the Trump Administration and Secretary Brooke Rollins for implementing Stage Two of the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP). Droughts, hurricanes, and other weather-related events during the 2023 and 2024 growing seasons caused significant crop damage across the Cotton Belt, adding to the severe economic challenges growers are already facing.
While the launch of SDRP Stage 2 will help address a portion of the shortfall from the previous two crops, NCC urges the Trump Administration to quickly finalize meaningful economic assistance for cotton growers who continue to face depressed market revenue that falls well below the cost of production.
