In its June acreage report, USDA estimated 2023-24 U.S. cotton plantings at 11.1 million acres, down 19.4% from 2022.
Upland planted area is estimated to have decreased 19.2% to 11.0 million acres. ELS cotton producers planted 109,000 acres, down 40.1%.
USDA’s June projection for all cotton is down 169,000 acres from their initial 2023 estimate released in March.
