National Cotton Council state unit officers for 2019 were elected at the industrywide organization’s annual meeting held in San Antonio, Texas, on February 8-10.

Cotton Achievement Award Honors Robert H. Chapman
The late Robert H. Chapman, III, who had a passion for textile manufacturing and who served as chairman, chief executive officer, and treasurer of Inman Mills in Spartanburg, S.C., received the 17th Oscar Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award.

Cotton Service Award Honors Phil Burnett
Phillip Burnett, a former chief staff executive for the National Cotton Council, received the 2018 Harry S. Baker Distinguished Service Award.

Mike Tate to Lead the National Cotton Council in 2019
Mike Tate, a cotton producer from Huntsville, Ala., was elected National Cotton Council chairman for 2019.

Wes Morgan to Lead National Cotton Ginners Association
The Memphis-based National Cotton Ginners Association elected its 2019 officers on February 8 during its annual meeting in San Antonio, Texas.

Kirk Gilkey Is National Ginner Award Recipient
Kirk Gilkey, manager of the Cross-Creek II Gin in Corcoran, Calif., and who has provided several years of dedicated service to the U.S. cotton industry, is the 2018 Horace Hayden National Cotton Ginner of the Year.

Cotton Council International Elects 2019 Officers
Hank Reichle, a cooperative official from Greenwood, Miss., will serve as president of Cotton Council International for 2019.
