On World Cotton Day, the Transformers Foundation released its annual report entitled “Cotton: A Case Study in Misinformation.” The report is intended to equip fashion professionals with the tools they need to build critical data consumption in fashion and eradicate misleading claims surrounding the entire cotton supply chain. The report also documents the misinformation problem in the fashion industry. We caught up with Dr. Jesse Daystar, Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Cotton Incorporated and one of the contributors to the report, to understand the importance of this report and how its findings impact all segments of the global textile supply chain.
