The Department of Agriculture announced more aid for farmers and livestock producers through its existing Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) and a new $6 billion aid package this week.

The Department of Agriculture announced more aid for farmers and livestock producers through its existing Coronavirus Food Assistance Program (CFAP) and a new $6 billion aid package this week. The department will issue $4.5 billion in payments to more than 560,000 crop farmers at a payment rate of $20 an acre as prescribed under the coronavirus aid package that passed Congress in December. Reece Langley, Vice President of Washington Operations for the National Cotton Council, joins us with details on how the program is set to benefit cotton producers and American textile manufacturers. Langley also points out a few provisions in the new program that producers need to be aware of before enrolling with their county Farm Service Agency office.
