In its July 12 report, USDA projected 2016-2017 U.S. cotton production to be 15.8 million bales, which is one million bales over last month’s projection. Dr. Jody Campiche, Vice President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, joins us to explain how the USDA reached this number.
