USDA published the June cotton acreage report this morning. According to Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, this is the lowest it’s been since 1989.

Adams says the most noticeable change is the Mid-South and Southwest.

Crop shifts and weather are some of the major factors for the decline in acreage according to Adams.
