The Joint Cotton Industry Bale Packaging Committee approved two new woven polypropylene bags: an extruded seam bag with modified construction and a spiral seam bag with eight-by-eight yarns per square inch of fabric construction. Lee tiller, Chairman of the committee says there are still several other woven polypropylene bags that are being tested and reviewed.
In addition to the woven polypropylene and other bags, Tiller says the committee will continue to discuss bags made from 100 percent cotton.
According to tiller the committee has also asked bag manufactures to work on breathe-ability.
