As September is suicide awareness month, Tara Haskins, registered nurse and Total Farmer Health Director with the AgriSafe Network, shares the importance of taking time to highlight the major role that suicide plays in our individual lives and in our health care system. Haskins encourages reaching out to someone if you think they may be struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts, as letting people know you care is an important step in suicide prevention. Haskins also recommends calling the AgriStress Helpline, which is available 24 hours a day and seven day a week at 833-897-2474.
