Suggested Introduction 1:
Robbie Minnich, senior government relations representative with the National Cotton Council, provides an update on the Beagle Brigade Act of 2022. The Act permanently authorizes the Department of Agriculture’s National Detector Dog Training Center. The Beagle Brigade is trained at the Center to identify foreign pests and diseases to protect the U.S. agriculture and food supply. After training, the dogs are sent to major U.S. ports of entry, such as airports, land border crossings, and mail and cargo facilities, to sniff out threats.
