Becky Davis, Clemson Extension Water Resources Agent shares how growers can stay safe when checking their irrigation systems especially after summer storms. She encourages growers to use non-contact voltage testers to check pivots before opening their panel box. She also advises growers that after checking irrigation systems with a voltage tester, to only touch the system with the back of their hand to further test for an electrical current and avoid electrocution.
