The University of Georgia recently announced the establishment of the Institute for Integrative Precision Agriculture. Dr. Allen Moore, Interim co-director for the institute, and professor with the Department of Entomology at the university, explains that the goal of the new offering is to leverage faculty expertise and strengthen industry ties to help sustainably feed a growing global population.

 

Dr. Moore said a major component of the institute is hearing directly from growers about their needs related to precision agriculture and how technology can be used to streamline their work. From conservation and water issues to employee needs, the institute aims to help the industry find solutions using the technology we have available. Dr. Moore encourages growers interested in learning more or who are looking to problem solve, to reach out to him at ajmoore@uga.edu.
