Today’s Cotton Newsline is 1 cut. It features Lauren Krogman, manager of Marketing and Processing Technology for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested Introduction 1:

Lauren Krogman, manager of Marketing and Processing Technology for the National Cotton Council shares concerns about instances of misreported bagging and tie code combinations on electronic warehouse receipts, which have increased over the last several crop years. The National Cotton Council is reaching out to gins for their assistance in resolving the issue.

The Department of Agriculture requires gins to include bag and tie codes when sending bale data to warehouses, and warehouses are required to include bag and tie codes on all warehouse receipts. Having correct tare weights is equally important.

For more details, including the official Bagging and Tie Codes table and Tare Weights table, visit the National Cotton Council website at www.cotton.org. For questions reach out to Lauren Krogman at the Council at 901-274-9030 or lkrogman@cotton.org.
