Reece Langley, Vice President of Washington Operations for the National Cotton Council, explains the Freight Logistics Optimization Works system, also known as FLOW, which was recently announced by the White House. The FLOW initiative will help provide companies and other supply chain actors with important information about the movement of cargo by helping to ensure more consistent early return dates for containers, more accurate chassis availability, and estimates of aggregate dwell time across the supply chain. FLOW is designed to support businesses and improve the accuracy of information from end-to-end for a more resilient supply chain.

Reece Langley, Vice President of Washington Operations for the National Cotton Council, provides an update on efforts to address supply chain challenges, including legislation Congress is working on called the Ocean Shipping Reform Bill. The Ocean Shipping Reform Bill provides the Federal Maritime Commission additional resources and authority to establish minimum shipping standards that ocean carriers must meet. Additionally, the bill would limit the ability of shipping companies refusing to take U.S. ag exports, when products are at the port and ready to be exported.
