The 2009 Specifications for Cotton Bale Packaging Materials were approved by USDA’s Commodity Credit Corporation. Dale Thompson, Manager of Marketing and Processing Technology for the National Cotton Council says these specifications are intended for use as manufacturing guidelines.

Thompson noted it is important for those manufacturing bale packaging materials to pay attention to the Certificate of Analysis section that was new in 2008.
