Friday’s Senate vote to limit the farm bill debate and number of amendments fell five votes short.  Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, is doubtful the Senate will approve a farm bill before the end of 2007.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Adams says the lack of movement in the Senate creates even more uncertainty for producers who are trying to plan for the 2008 planting season.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
Adams believes an extension of the 2002 Farm Bill would be a last resort.
