The House Agricultural Subcommittee for General Farm Commodities and Rick Management this week unanimously adopted a five-year extension of current law as the basis for the commodities title of the 2007 farm legislation.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts.  All cuts are Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council.

Suggested introduction cut 1:
The House Agricultural Subcommittee for General Farm Commodities and Risk Management this week unanimously adopted a five-year extension of current law as the basis for the commodities title of the 2007 farm legislation.  According to Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council, the subcommittee had a base bill that they started with.

Suggested introduction cut 2:
Minnich says the amendment to the Cotton Title offered by Congressman Jim Marshall of Georgia included a majority of the proposals put forth by the cotton industry.

Suggested introduction cut 3:
The mark-up approved by the subcommittee was a significant step forward for the cotton industry but Minnich says there are still several more hurdles to over come.
