The National Cotton Council Performance and Standards Task Force developed and unanimously adopted a comprehensive report addressing USDA’s proposed cotton flow rule.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 4 cuts.  All cuts are Mr. Bobby Greene a ginner and warehouseman from Courtland, Alabama. Mr. Greene is Chairman for the National Cotton Council Performance and Standards Task Force and the Cotton Flow Committee.

The National Cotton Council Performance and Standards Task Force developed and unanimously adopted a comprehensive report addressing USDA’s proposed cotton flow rule.  Bobby Greene, Chairman of the Task Force, says cotton flow is an important issue for the Council due to the significant cotton market shift from domestic to export.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Greene says the Task Force reached agreement on several key issues the first of which was uniform storage credit.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

According to Greene, the Task Force agreed on a general reconcentration of cotton where merchants that hold the rights to the loan cotton could move the cotton from the original warehouse to another warehouse for several reasons. One would allow unlimited transfers, however storage credit would be limited in these cases.

Suggested introduction cut 4:

Greene says they also agreed with USDA’s proposed rule on outside storage.
