EPA has created a unique category for a new cotton product that is environmentally sound.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is 3 cuts. All cuts are Terry Littlefield, Product Manger for Chaperone™.

Suggested introduction cut 1:

EPA has created a unique category for a new cotton product that is environmentally sound. That product is Chaperone. And according to Product Manger Terry Littlefield it is the only product in this category.

Suggested introduction cut 2:

Chaperone is a protein enhancer used in conjunction with transgenic cotton varieties. Littlefield explains that since the seed is the largest user of protein and is the determinant factor in lint production, the enhanced protein production and movement can mean higher yields.

Suggested introduction cut 3:

Late in the growing season when worm pressure is at its highest is when you need to maintain the maximum amount of Bt protein throughout the active fruiting zone. According to Littlefield after four years of research they are seeing increased yield and increase worm mortality.
