Although cotton producers can expect to begin receiving their prefilled applications for the Cotton Ginning Cost Share (CGCS) program by mail during the week of March 12, they also have the option of visiting their local Farm Service Agency (FSA) office and have them pull the CGCS application.

Also now available is the FSA's notice CN-1059 CGCS Program for 2016 Cotton Crop which provides the program's policies and provisions. FSA said the only differences between the 2016 and 2015 programs are the signup dates and the payment rates. Signup will continue through May 11, 2018. The same payment eligibility rules and payment limits will apply in the 2016 crop CGCS program.

The Notice of Funds Availability for CGCS was set at $220 million. The CGCS Fact Sheet provides an overview of the program and clearly identifies the payment regions.
