The American Home Furnishings Alliance (AHFA), representing a coalition including the NCC, submitted comments to the National Fire Protection Assoc. (NFPA) regarding NFPA's development of a new standard for evaluating fire and ignition resistance of upholstered furniture. AHFA's comments referenced an earlier communication to NFPA's Standards Council-Fire Test Committee.
In related action, AHFA submitted comments, on behalf of the same coalition, regarding the California Dept. of Toxic Substances Control's methodology to screen for flame retardant chemicals in upholstered furniture in accordance with the requirements contained in California S.B. 1019.
