A recent study by Kansas State University researchers entitled “Are Farmers Made Whole by Trade Aid?” stated that, “payment rates are larger than estimated price impacts of retaliatory tariffs for most commodities – the difference is especially large for cotton and sorghum.” However, a further look at actual price and trade data confirms that U.S. cotton producers have not been overcompensated for the trade damages.
