Wal-Mart Sustainability Project
Mr. Kim Brandner of Wal-Mart detailed the company's sustainability focus. The efforts include use of renewable energy, eliminating waste, and marketing sustainable products, including textile and apparel products.
 
Update on USDA 1614 Payments Report
NCC Vice President John Maguire provided an update of USDA's database tracking farm and conservation program benefits. The creation of the database was authorized by Section 1614 of the 2002 farm bill.
 
Cotton Crop Insurance Program
Dr. Kent Lanclos, chief economist with USDA's Risk Management Agency, provided an overview of the ongoing evaluation of the cotton crop insurance program.
