Contamination Prevention Guidelines

Contamination Prevention Guidelines

Because delivering contamination-free cotton to U.S. cotton's customers is an important National Cotton Council (NCC) policy, the  NCC distributed contamination-free cotton guidelines to producers, ginners, warehousers and other groups in September 2015. A Spanish version of the guidelines (Directrices para los cultivadores de algodón) was added in March 2017.

The guidelines' goal is to help industry members in their efforts to keep foreign materials out of cotton. The guidelines, though, should not be treated as exhaustive "to do" lists and -- can and should be tailored to individual operations. Please let the NCC know if the guidelines were useful and any suggestions you have for improving the guidelines. Email suggestions to jcibpc@cotton.org. Remember the goal is to keep your cotton clean and pure.
