Cotton Newsline: November 17, 2023

Today’s Cotton Newsline features Veronica Nigh, Senior Economist with the American Farm Bureau Federation.

Veronica Nigh, Senior Economist with the American Farm Bureau Federation, shares results from the organization’s annual Thanksgiving Dinner Cost survey. Farm Bureau’s 38th annual survey provides a snapshot of the average cost of this year’s classic Thanksgiving feast for 10, which is $61.17 or less than $6.20 per person. This is a 4.5% decrease from last year’s average record-high of $64.05. Nigh noted that turkey prices have fallen thanks to a sharp reduction in avian influenza cases, allowing production to increase in time for the holiday.
