For the 2020 crop year, the Department of Agriculture projects a 17.5 million bale U.S. cotton crop.

For the 2020 crop year, the Department of Agriculture projects a 17.5 million bale U.S. cotton crop. This projection is based on a June 30th acreage report that showed 12.2 million planted acres of cotton. This is an 11% decline compared to last year’s crop. Dr. Jody Campiche, Vice President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, joins us to talk about crop conditions and yield potential across the cotton belt.
