The Cotton Board oversees the cotton industry's check-off program. Assessments are collected from cotton producers and importers of cotton apparel. Recently, USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service released a final rule that increases the value assigned to imported cotton and the cotton content of imported products so that it is the same as the valuation of cotton subject to producer assessments.
