The Senate Appropriations Committee favorably reported (28-1) the FY13 agriculture appropriations bill which provides $20.8 billion in discretionary funds for operations and programs under the jurisdiction of USDA, the Food and Drug Administration and related programs. Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council says the funding is $50 million less than the amount requested by the Administration and $1.2 billion more than was provided in FY12.
