Update on Boll Weevil Eradication Program.

In 1958, following several years of multiple pesticide applications and various technologies that failed, producers committed themselves to eliminating the boll weevil as a pest of U.S. cotton. Now, 50 years later, following successful development of technology and trial eradication programs, Dr. Frank Carter, an entomology consultant for the National Cotton Council says, the Boll Weevil is close to eradication.
