USDA June Supply & Demand Report

The USDA June Supply and Demand report for the 2006 crop year shows a decrease in U.S. cotton exports. According to Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, the lower demand caused an increase in ending stocks for the marketing year.

Adams says for the 2007 crop year USDA is still estimating a U.S. crop of 18.8 million bales.

For the 2007 world crop, Adams says the USDA was more aggressive on their estimates for global demand.
