Fifteen-inch row spacing in cotton is a fairly new and not yet widely adopted concept. But according to Jeff Barnes, Crop Systems Specialist for John Deere, this production system has grown from the 2,000 acres planted in 2004.

Barnes says the benefits of the 15-inch row spacing are different for each producer.

In order for a producer to change to the 15-in row spacing, Barnes says they will have to make some equipment changes.
