This week’s Cotton Newsline is 2 cuts. Both cuts are, Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the National Cotton Council.
Suggested Introduction 1:
The National Cotton Council joined a letter with 11 other agricultural and commodity organizations to Senators urging them to co-sponsor S.700, which was introduced by Senators Stabenow of Michigan, Roberts and Moran of Kansas and Klobuchar of Minnesota. Robbie Minnich, Senior Government Relations Representative for the Council, says S. 700 would amend the tax code to permanently establish a five-year depreciation schedule for agriculture equipment placed in service after December 31, 2009.
Suggested Introduction 2:
Minnich says Senators Stabenow, Roberts, Moran and Klobuchar believe this legislation will encourage farmers and agriculture producers to continue investing in their businesses.
Minnich says the United States is the world leader in the production of agriculture equipment, with the industry directly and indirectly employing 250,000 workers.
