Late last week the Senate finished debating the farm bill. According to Dr. Gary Adams, Vice-President of Economics and Policy Analysis for the National Cotton Council, the Senate defeated two amendments that would have detrimental to the effectiveness of the farm program.

Late on Friday the Senate passed the final Farm Bill legislation with a vote of 79 to 14. Adams says the next step is ironing out the details.
