Due to terrorists producers are forced to find fertilizer substitutes.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts.  All cuts are Dr. Gene Stevens,Crop Production Specialist at the University of Missouri.

Ammonium nitrate fertilizer is an effective source of nitrogen for plant growth. Unfortunately, in the hands of terrorists it can also be used to produce a bomb.  According to Dr. Gene Stevens – Crop Production Specialist at the University of Missouri – Urea is the most common dry nitrogen fertilizer substitute but it also causes concerns.

According to Stevens they have found ways to slow down the volatilization.
