One of U.S. cotton’s largest Pakistani customers traveled to San Diego recently to attend CCI's Sourcing USA Cotton Summit.

This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts. All cuts are Shahzad Saleem, Managing Director of Nishat Chunian, a Pakistani textile company.

One of U.S. cotton’s largest Pakistani customers traveled to San Diego recently to attend the Sourcing USA Cotton Summit. Shahzad Saleem, Managing Director of Nishat Chunian, says his operation benefits greatly from services that accompany U.S. cotton. 

Suggested introduction cut two:

Nishat Chunian is the biggest consumer of U.S. Pima cotton in Pakistan, followed by Upland cotton for knitting yarns. As a U.S. cotton customer for five years, Saleem values his operation’s partnership with Cotton Council International

Suggested introduction for cut three:

Saleem was one of two hundred international cotton buyers, representing 12.2 million bales of consumption and imports of 5 million bales of U.S. cotton annually, that participated in the 2004 Sourcing USA Summit. He thinks the event was a success.
