This week’s Cotton Newsline is three cuts. All cuts are Frank Carter, Senior Scientist of Pest Management for the National Cotton Council.
Suggested introduction cut one:
Frank Carter says projects funded by the Pink Bollworm Action Committee have made significant progress in the past four years. Carter, the senior scientist of Pest Management for the National Cotton Council, reports on the group’s recent meeting in Chandler, Arizona.
Suggested introduction cut two:
The next step for the committee is to take the program to full eradication. According to Carter, the ideal situation would include obtaining sufficient funding to rear and release millions of sterile pink bollworm moths over the area. However, if the budget is not available, the committee has two options.
Suggested introduction for cut three:
Carter says funding for pink bollworm eradication efforts comes from two sources, with the majority of costs paid by producers.
