Hartstack traps baited with pheromones have been used to monitor populations of Helicoverpa zea (Boddie) and Heliothis virescens (F.) throughout the mid-South. In the Mississippi Delta, populations of both species have fluctuated annually over the last 20 years, but populations of both species have declined since 1997. (Photo courtesy of USDA-ARS)
