ABSTRACT

Two experimental belt drying systems were installed in commercial cotton gins for testing and demonstration. The new drying technology provided an effective means for drying seed cotton, especially extremely wet seed cotton. In addition when the belt dryer was employed the gins' seed cotton cleaning systems operated more efficiently. Comparative data for the belt dryer and a conventional tower dryer are presented.
