ABSTRACT

This paper introduces a new technology of cotton spinning, channel spinning. Channel spinning not only can spin the 100% pure cotton yarns, but also can spin the cotton covered filament-core spun yarns. The cotton yarns of 28 tax were spun successfully in the channel spinning machine. The qualities of the yarn obtained are listed. The cotton covered filament-core spun yarns were also produced in the machine without adding auxiliary body. The cross section of the core yarn is shown. The core is sheathed completely and evenly by the cotton fibres.
