ABSTRACT

The influence of three planting dates (3/29/85, 4/12/85, and 4/29/85) on the development of Fusarium wilt in cotton cultivars Acala SJ-2 and Acala AJC-1, and cotton breeding lines N6072 and N8577 was determined. These cotton selections were used due to their differing reactions to the Fusarium wilt complex pathogens Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. vasinfectum (Fov) and root-knot nematode Meloidogyne incognita (Mi). Acala SJ-2 is susceptible to both Fov and Mi, Acala SJC-1 is tolerant to Fov and susceptible to Mi, N6072 in susceptible to Fov and resistant to Me, and N8577 is susceptible to Fov and has more resistance to Mi than N6072.
