Condor® Of: A Genetically Altered Bioinsecticide for Insect Control in Cotton

R.J. Gouger and J.D. Dabbs

ABSTRACT

Condor® OF bioinsecticide contains a genetically manipulated strain that incorporates genes from two different Bt strains. By combining genetic material from both Bt var. aizawai and Bt var. kurstaki, Ecogen scientists created a unique Bt strain that produces toxic crystal proteins that have been shown to have the highest insecticidal activity against tobacco budworm and bollworm.
