ABSTRACT

A 100-PTO horsepower, two-wheel drive, agricultural tractor (Massey Ferguson 2675) was instrumented to monitor and record implement energy requirements during cotton planting and tillage operations. A laptop computer and micrologger recorded real-time values of draft, axle speed and torque, fuel consumption, engine speed, and ground speed. The modular instrumentation system recorded one-second, hardware-averaged digital and analog signals for subsequent statistical analysis.
