Cottonseed and Seed-Coat Fragments

J.D. Bargeron III

ABSTRACT

Seed-coat-fragment contamination is a frequent cause of second quality fabric. Seed-coat fragments are highly associated with seed characteristics. White spots, another similar cause of second quality fabric, may be a more troublesome source of a second quality fabric than seed-coat fragments. There appears to be little evidence to associate white spots with seed characteristics.
