HVI Specimen Preparation - A Comparison

R.S. Krovicki, J.M. Hemstreet, and W. Aguillard

ABSTRACT

Fiber length distributions of specimens prepared by Motion Control and Uster HVI's are compared with Fibrograms generated from raw stock fiber length distributions by using the Peyer Almeter. These are found to be similar for long, medium and short varieties of cotton. operator preparation is also compared for 4 and 2 inch specimens. Greater variations appear to be due to operators rather than to instruments.
