On-Line Trashmetering for Cotton Cleaning

David L. Senn, John E. Crowley, and William L. Zabriskie

ABSTRACT

On-line trashmetering is presented as a means to accurately measure the non-lint content of cotton during all stages of processing prior to carding. As such, on-line monitoring of trash levels in cotton prior to spinning is one area that can contribute substantially to the reduction of ends down in spinning.
