The Effects of Insecticides on the Spatial Distribution of Cotton Insects

Linda J. (Willson) Young and Jerry H. Young

ABSTRACT

The spatial distribution of cotton insects is explored. Some, such as aphids, exhibit spatial correlation. The cotton fleahopper is one which has no spatial correlation. The disruption of cotton fleahopper spatial patterns is accomplished by nonuniform spraying of insecticides. The dynamics of changing spatial patterns after spraying is illustrated. The impact of these patterns on control is discussed.
